Vintage Antique 1900 Gas Electric Art Nouveau Pendant Restored

  
I'm very excited to offer this awesome, restored combination gas electric combination hall pendant! This pendant, from thereabouts around 1900 (+ or - a few years), is in great vintage condition with a nice mottled patina that brass can only acquire through decades of oxidation. I have not polished the metal in an effort to preserve the lovely original color, but I did give it a thorough cleaning. There are some surface blemishes and irregularities, but this can be expected from any fixture from this era. The deep acid etched shade with an art nouveau motif is simply incredible! Even the profile of the shade itself is distinctive. It is amazing lit or unlit, and really "makes" the whole fixture.

The porcelain candle that covers the gas jet is fluted to complement both the candle cup it sits in and the ceiling canopy, which are also both ribbed/fluted. I collect gas candle covers, and I have never seen another one like this before. It has a few minor chips at the top rim. Because the glass has a matte, bisque finish, these are hard to notice even close up. The gas jet, while inactive, retains its original clay flame regulator tip.

It is very rare to see these intact. The scale of the fixture makes it ideal for a vestibule, foyer, or hallway application.

It measures 29 inches long and is 14 inches wide. I may be able to shorten the length a bit, if needed. The ceiling canopy measures 3.25 inches in diameter and may not fully cover all types of modern electrical boxes, though there are modern boxes out there that would be compatible with this size canopy. A medallion or adaptor may be needed, depending on the circumstances of your intended installation.
