Antique Edward Miller Vestal Single Arm Brass Student Oil Lamp Electric

  

For your consideration is an antique single arm Edward Miller brass student oil lamp that has been electrified. The lamp was not drilled to electrify it, the cord was ran up the draft tube and the socket sits on top of it. There are a couple issues with this lamp so its not sure if it could be turned back into oil. The reservoir below the burner does have some splits forming but not sire if they are all the way through and the metal around the thumbwheel rod is spread away from the rod to make it loose but it does still move the wick carrier up and down. It would also need a flame spreader, there is not one included.

The lamp does have wear, patina, corrosion, and oil contamination throughout. On the font it looks like everything is working properly and does not have any splits. The white shade is original and does not have any cracks or repairs; a minor chip is present on the top rim as shown in photos. The lamp measures 20 1/2" in height and the shade is a 7" fitter.
